I think it is a good idea. 0.10 is good for simply archives. It leaves to many lags for the more complicated ones.

So, if my pin_handler branch is working for most people here on the list, I'm would be even willing to skip 0.10.
I want to go ahead and do a 0.10 release soon, just so people that don't want to download the source code can have something relatively stable to use in the meantime. I understand fully if you don't have time to work on it though, I'll try to finish up the remaining issues myself.
