I'm successfully using boost-1.33.1-5 (RPM) on Fedora Core 2.

Are you running mono?  I've got VS2005 on WinXP.  I haven't messed with
mono, but I've got FC4 if I need to go that route.

Mono and .NET are not required. This is straight C++.

I haven't tried this on Windows, only Linux. But I believe Toby and Dirk use it on Windows.
