Just wanted to find out if anyone knows the difference in performance, functionality for subversion running in windows xp vs linux/unix.

Any input is really appreciated.

Grace, we're happy to help you answer any questions, but you should really move these general Subversion questions (not dealing with the actual VSS-to-SVN conversion) to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list, because that list is much more widely read and you're likely to get a wider range of responses.

There is no difference in functionality running Subversion on Windows versus Linux, and I'd bet there is virtually no difference in performance either. As Kenneth mentioned, there are some OS features of Linux that make it a bit more friendly in my opinion for version control in general, but if you're more familiar with Windows then there's absolutely no reason not to run it on that platform.
