Grace, we're happy to help you answer any questions, but you should
really move these general Subversion questions (not dealing with the
actual VSS-to-SVN conversion) to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing
list, because that list is much more widely read and you're likely to
get a wider range of responses.
There is no difference in functionality running Subversion on Windows
versus Linux, and I'd bet there is virtually no difference in
performance either. As Kenneth mentioned, there are some OS features of
Linux that make it a bit more friendly in my opinion for version control
in general, but if you're more familiar with Windows then there's
absolutely no reason not to run it on that platform.
