2. Start the ActivePerl Package Manager and run the following commands:
  install dbi
  install dbd-sqlite2
  install time-modules
  install config-ini
  install text-glob
  install xml-sax-expat

Thanks. I worked out something fairly similar but mine failed when I did the 'install dbd-sqlite2'. I just figured "I've obviously got the 'wrong' flavour of perl..." especially when I saw the web page that listed dbd-sqlite2 as "not currently available" on windows. It was the first time I'd tried to set up perl from scratch so I didn't really know to expect otherwise. I had briefly looked at the commands for adding repositories, but then found there was a working CPAN module and thought "oh of course, CPAN is where these modules come from", having seen it used on other platforms before...

3. Then create or edit /Perl/site/lib/XML/SAX/ParserDetails.ini

Hmmm... well if I'd got past step 2, I've no idea where I'd have found out I needed to do that.

The new nightly builds should fulfil my other requirements (thanks, Toby!) as long as none of the other recent changes have been detrimental, so I doubt I'll be trying this again soon... a few pointers in the right direction might still be an idea for people who do want to hack the script and don't have perl set up on Windows yet... if nothing else so they don't get diverted from the correct path if something doesn't work as expected.
