It is true that GPL'd software and commercial software are not mutually
exclusive.
Tcl is not a problem at all - it has a BSD license.
"The authors hereby grant permission to use, copy, modify, distribute,
and license this software and its documentation for any purpose,
provided
that existing copyright notices are retained in all copies and that this
notice is included verbatim in any distributions."
I can't speak for Stallman and Co. but I am willing to guess that he
would prefer to keep it all GPL'd.
I just looked at the Glade license and it is GPL also, so I guess it has
the same issue. Note that I am not calling it a problem, but it is a
situation that all Vtcl users should be aware of: as the license stands
now, if you use Vtcl to develop a program, that program must use the
GPL.
Whether that limits the usefulness or acceptance of Vtcl is beyond me
and is an issue for the developers to decide.
