More thoughts:

--------------------------------------------------
shift click and frames
--------------------------------------------------
I verified that without checking auto place widgets
in prefs, 1.5.2 works like before.

However, it treats frames differently than other widgets. It will
nest frames in frames, while it adds buttons etc. to the
frame that was selected first. I would think frames should
be treated the same as other buttons when adding. And in 1.5.2
with shift click I would think it would work that way too.

I feel this behavior would be more intuitive.

--------------------------------------------------
apply to
--------------------------------------------------

I tried to use the new feature that lets you apply
changes to all widgets that are similar, but did not have much
success. Is this working yet? (right click on the attribute to
get the apply-to menu).

In thinking about this, it might be useful to have a choice to apply
to all similar in a particular frame as well as toplevel. A distinction
for whether to apply to only those at the same level or to all at that
level and below might also be worthwhile.

This would provide then:

1. apply to all similar in project
2. apply to all similar in same toplevel (and all nested below)

3. apply to similar at same level (the same frame or same toplevel this widget is in).
4. apply to similar at this level and below (the frame or toplevel this widget is in
and all below it).

I did not understand what "similar subwidgets" by itself would be.

Buttons in a frame tend to be all "side top" or "side left" or
same font etc. This would allow me to put 5 buttons in a frame,
then set up the attributes of one button, and apply some of its attributes
to the other 4.

Also, if its an attribute, like fill or font, then it would apply
to all widgets that have that attribute. In that regard, I guess
that would be the definition of "similar widget".

Does this make sense?

thanks
eric
