Your stop button is OK, but the event loop is not getting any CPU time to process the click. So it looks like the stop button doesn't react. The simplest solution is to sprinkle calls to [update] in your long-running routine.
Unfortunately, the simple solution can introduce strange bugs into your program. There is a nice discussion of ways to handle this on the Wiki page titled "Keep a GUI alive during a long calculation" at http://mini.net/tcl/1526.html Bob -- Bob Techentin [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mayo Foundation (507) 538-5495 200 First St. SW FAX (507) 284-9171 Rochester MN, 55901 USA http://www.mayo.edu/sppdg/ -----Original Message----- From: Brent Maxwell [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, May 15, 2002 6:25 AM To: vtcl-user Subject: [vtcl-user] exit command & state change I am attempting to put a stop button on a vtcl interface to halt the execution of a routine running under vtcl, but the exit command seems to be disabled...is there any way around this? Also, I would like to change the state of a button from active to disabled automatically during the execution of my procedure...how would I go about doing this?
