Some of you may not be aware that John Kerry and John Edwards published a paperback book prior to the election entitled 'OUR PLAN FOR AMERICA'[ ISBN # 1586483145]. I was incensed and thoroughly disappointed by the following quote on page 33 under the heading 'Middle East Peace'. (We)... "Understand that it is unrealistic to expect that the outcome of the final status negotiations will be a full and complete return to the armistice lines of 1949 and we understand that all final status negotiations must be mutually agreed on". I have always thought it totally unacceptable that just because the Isramericans have been able to dominate and suppress the Palestinians , that the Palestinians, being at such an inherent disadvantage, necessarily have to accept such 'lowered expectations'. The wording also suggests that if Hamas ( arguably a necessary party to any agreement) does not 'mutually agree' then no agreement would be forthcoming - how convenient that would be for a continued whittling away of territory ? This may be the book with the shortest shelf life ever ! I first saw it at my local book store a week before the election and today when I rushed over there to jot down the piece quoted below ,it was already in the 'back room' waiting to be shipped back to the publisher !! With policies like these perhaps the recycle bin is its best repository !! I'd like to know where VTJP and its members stand on this Kerry/Edwards statement. ------------------------ Yahoo!
