Hello Fellow VTJPers, I hope that everyone has enjoyed their holidays. I returned from the West Bank last week and have been visiting with friends and family. I decided to return to the West Bank in mid January for four and half months. Mohammed and I realized how much we loved each other and we decided to get married again. A few weeks after we made this decision his family said they did not agree with the marriage, even though the like me, because they do not want Mohammed living in the states. This is completely understandable. But we are hoping that they will change their minds since we want to spend time in both Palestine and Vermont. I will go back and live in Ramallah, study Arabic, work with the ISM, and hopefully find a job and get married. Insh'allah… There were a few responsibilities that I took on for VTJP that I will not be able to fulfill now. I am sorry that I will not be able to do them. The following is the list of things I said I would do: 1. organize the vigils in January, February, and March 2. help organize materials for a VTJP table with Marmete and Hilary (I will leave materials that I already have compiled at the PJC, many of these materials can be photocopied) 3. publicity for Salaam/Shalom (I have made up a flier and also a handout for the show, which I will include in the table materials) 4. write press releases for Salaam/Shalom I will not be able to attend the next VTJP meeting because I will be visiting my grandmother before I leave at that time.
