Dear Friend,
The Faculty for Israeli-Palestinian Peace is organizing a campus
tour
for six Palestinian students from three different Universities in Gaza
City.
The tour is scheduled to take place at universities and colleges in the
U.S.
and Europe from April 1st to April 24th, 2005. If you are interested in
organizing an event for the students from Gaza at your campus please
let us
know ASAP.

The purpose of the tour:

To allow the Gaza students to tell the story of life under
occupation,
their suffering, hopes and dreams for a future and life of dignity.

Encourage greater understanding and cooperation between Palestinians
and
American students and faculty to promote an end to the occupation,
freedom,
human rights, and a just peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

To educate the American and European academic community about
conditions
in Gaza, now attracting attention with the Israeli governments planned
withdrawal from Gaza.

For most of the academic community in Europe and the U.S. it will be a
new
experience to meet and get to know students from Gaza. The tour will be
the
first time for most of the visiting students to be outside Gaza, to fly
and
visit Europe and the U.S, and will be an amazing learning experience
for
them.

   Tour Plan:

The group will arrive in Boston on March 31st. They will be in the
East
Coast from April 1 to April 10. They will then go to the West Coast
until
April 17. From Los Angles they will fly to visit universities in
England,
Brussels and Paris. They will return to Gaza on April 24th. The
visitors
will travel in teams of 2-3 students and in some cases as one group.
The
host campus is asked to organize an event for the visitors and cover
the
cost of travel to their campus and for providing accommodations, which
can
be at students homes. The event can be a lunch meeting with students
and
faculty, a visit to a class/seminar and/or a public event. They can do
more
than one event in a day. It will be great if you could arrange for them
an
interview on your local Radio, TV station or newspaper.

Thank you,
