Ernst,

I'm glad you've taken the time to write about your experience with the VTP.
From a load standpoint, the system scales pretty well with additional hardware.
We have deployments that operate at ~1500 sessions with somewhat small
applications. To answer your specific questions:

 1. The 4.0 development stream hasn't been officially reviewed through the
Eclipse release process which is why it is still off in a branch in source
control and hasn't been added to the downloads page. It is complete and
"ready-to-go", the paperwork just hasn't been completed. The project is still
marked incubation because we haven't had an official release of the project.
Once the 4.0 stream is graduated, the project will come out of incubation at
the same time.
 2. There was apparently a regression introduced at some point that broke the
DB Query module. I have committed a fix for the issue that will be included in
the build that will run tonight. It should be available through the update
site in the morning (central us time).

Subject: [vtp-dev] VTP 4.0 status - DB Query Problem

Dear VTP-Dev Users,

I am quite new to Voice Tools Project. So far I was able to install VTP 4.0,
create a simple Voice-App and doing successful load testing under Tomcat (600
parallel sessions).

I am quite impressed by VTP's functionality. However I have some questions:

1) I cannot find very much on the net regarding VTP (especially 4.0). Why is
the project in "incubation phase"? What is its future?

2) I encountered a specific problem with 4.0. When dragging the database query
modul into the canvas, the modul never shows up but makes the canvas somehow
corrupt (it cannot be saved anymore).

Is this a general problem? Is it specific for 4.0? I didn't try 3.0 so far.

Any comments / help / links would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Ernst
