Hello Petra, Glad to see you want to use vuurmuur as your personnal firewall ! A few links for you to read: http://wiki.vuurmuur.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Configuration http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=114382&package_id=150383 But to answer your question and to sum up the process if you use the latest version: 1- create an interface for your internet connection: certainly eth0 2- assign your interface to the network 0.0.0.0 in the net zone by selecting the network then hit F6 and select the interface. 3- Then start to create your rules to allow incoming traffic, by default every incoming traffic is blocked. (this step is not required for web surfing and reading mails, but is needed for p2p and remote access to your laptop ect ...) This is really an overview of the configuration, so I encourage you to read the quick setup guide and the wiki for more information. Hope that was useful but it's hard to give you more information as I don't know what you want to do exactly. Phil
