I think it sounds good.
I'm trying to work on performance and a test suite, but I'd love for 
someone else to write me an internals guide. ;-)
I'd be willing to submit as I learn myself, but don't know much yet...

As for format, devs like plain old ascii text, or UTF-8 if you'd like to 
get all modern on us.  A wiki would also be an ideal way to get multiple 
people to collaborate. Otherwise, so far the project documentation seems 
to be in Open Office format.
