it seems to be just the GUI which freezes.
The symtoms are:
* GUI does not refresh if you click on the window frame (means that it does
not get the event, somehow)
* it take 5-10 minutes 'til the GUI responds again
* the scan/crawl is still working as it continously writes to the configured
output files
