You probably mean Dennis Dickson.  Guides, and I am one of them, like to
have their own patterns; inhances ones rep.  The key to a good steelhead
pattern is to get it in front of one!!  Nothing beats marabou.  Joe
Butorec's pattern is as good as any.  Scissor two marabou plums, one on top
of the shank and one below.  The one keeps the other from rapping around the
hook and there's lots of action to this pattern.  Easy to tie, fast and
durable.  Hard to beat.  Tie it on a 1/0, or 2/0 hook and there are few "hot
shots" that work any better if you get it in the zone and moving slowly.
