I have a relatively new STH CR-POP and it isn't useable. Apparently the
spring on the spool hold down lever isn't strong enough so the spool pops
off prematurely - when a big fish is on. I'll be sending this one back to
the factory and this will be my last experience with STH. The foot of the
reel is also too small for my taste. It won't fit a standard Pac Bay reel
seat without modification. Overall, I've become disillusioned with most
Cortland products.

I have an STH CR-POP, a cassette reel, and it works just fine. It's been
used on lakes, rivers, and in the salt. Smooth drag, tough, no problems.
