Bill,
I wouldn't even think of fishing Hoodsport without my pontoon boat because
with a high tide there is very limited fishing from shore and that's when
there is combat fishing at it's finest. I threw a small bait fish pattern
with a quick retrieve, later to find out that the slowest possible retrieve
works best. There are fish in there and if the natives don't net this week
I'll be there again for sure this weekend. You may want to check out a site
called bcfishin.com. It is by far the best sight yet on the net for
flyfishing for kings and Coho that I've seen. I ran into a guy that fly
fishes as much as I down there last weekend and he said he had played about
a dozen fish fish the Monday before but was able to only land two. He
laughed at me for even thinking I could land one on twelve pound test, he
uses a minimum of fifteen. If you are up to a challenge meet me there this
weekend and lets play with the big boys.
Cheers,
Patrick

were a few fish around crashing the surface but from what I hear the natives
had netted on tuesday and had eleminated about 2000 fish. There were several
fishermen who I talked with who caught several fish on monday and said that
up and til tuesday fishing had been real good. There were three of us fly
fishing today with no luck but one person did hook up for about ten minutes
before that fish had practiced LDR. Perhaps I'll try again next weekend. The
re was one fish in the ponds that had to be almost fifty pounds that in
itself made the trip worth while.
