Another fun day on the Snoqualmie. I fished the upper run because of the
report I received from a boat angler yesterday. Wasn't nearly as good as
they experienced, but little competition from other anglers. There was one
fly angler in the lower run on the David Powell and I dropped below him and
fished the deep water slot that he couldn't reach. A slow steady bend to my
7wt soon followed and I came back hard and low, but one good jump and out
came the hook! I CHARLIE'D it off!! I was using a 13' steelhead sink-tip
and a George Cook Popsicle fly. The hook was a blue Gamakatsu steelhead
hook. There are silvers and some new kings on many of the steelhead runs in
the upper river. Jere
