Work's been rather slow this week with clients on vacation, so with
the sun beckoning me outside, I played hookey Wednesday afternoon to
fish nearby Beaver Lake.

Although the air temperature was a balmy 50 degrees, the water was a
chilly 39 (brrr, even in 3.5mm neoprenes!) An unusually large amount
of floating vegetation, leaves and gunk made me wonder if the lake is
in the process 'turning over'.

In two hours on the water I had just one hit and saw one fish swirl,
making it my first shutout there this year.
