Just renewed my Washington state fishing license yesterday at the Mill
Creek regional headquarters of the Washington State Fish and Wildlife. A
new license is required as of April 1st.
They have a new computer system installed that saves a bit of time, but of
course it costs more. The combo fresh/saltwater fishing license is $36 and
there is a $3.42 charge to pay for the new system for a total of $39.42.
Also be aware that you now must give them your social security number. This
is a new federal law to help track down deadbeat dads who fail to pay child
support. I won't spout my personal feelings about this new policy to this
list as it doesn't relate to flyfishing. I just wanted to let you all know
about it.
So don't forget to renew you license if you plan on fishing this Sunday,
April 1st and there after.
