Hi Rob,
  I am not sure what you are after but here is a shrimp pattern I have used
for searuns.
    Hook Mustad SS size 6 ( really any hook will do, Tiemco 200r is nice
also)
    In your case pink thread
    Tie in mono eyes on shank even with hook point
    Tie in pink ( or pearl) flashabou. Have it extend past the hook bend
about 1/2 to 3/4 shank length. Also have it extend about a 1/4 inch past the
eye and flare this end to simulate shrimp tail.
    Start your chenille just above the hook bend bbut below the eyes wrap to
hook eye and whip finish. Watch your tail.
    I normally do not use head cement or flexament on this particular
pattern .
I geared this for your ersatz. I use dubabou for the fly I tie and
everything is chartreuse.
