The launch just downstream of the now gated site immediately below the
bridge at Cicero is on WDFW property. Thanks to a couple of members of
local fly clubs (who had to convince the department that they did, indeed,
own a piece of property there). The adjacent property owner downstream was
ready to claim it as his own. The department brushed it out and surveyed it
and has plans to dump a little gravel and such next year. It's rough, a
better place to launch a raft than a hard boat, and you'll have to do a bit
of dragging between there and the takeout. The first takeout below Cicero
is the Lime Quarry (at the end of 127th) and there's not another until you
get to Arlington. The float from the Lime Quarry to Arlington is longer
than Cicero to the Lime Quarry and has more good water. In either case, if
you take a drift boat be prepared to lose a little gelcoat, (paint?,
whatever) because there are a lot of shallow areas at these levels.
