I'll second Gary's report. I couldn't stand it today since the weather was looking nice and drove over to fish the canyon from 11:30-3:00. The water is in good shape again though cold, I had to get out occaisionally to warm up. I got a few fish on a #20 Brassie dragged behind a #16 BHPT nymph, they were 13" fish but chunky and full of spunk. There were fish taking midges on and off all day in the flat water and a few BWO's came off around 2:00. I got a couple of small fish on #22 BWO Comparaduns and 6X tippets but they were only 6-7" fish so I stopped fishing in that area.
Not a great day number wise but it sure beat being inside. The river has definately turned to winter fishing now. Tim
