I decided to give Hog Canyon a try yesterday afternoon. It's a 53 acre lake
located southeast of Spokane just off of I-90. There were about a dozen
cars in the lot and only three boats on the water. The majority of people
were fishing from the bank. I was the only one fly fishing on the lake.
The water was cold (40 degrees). There was a thin sheet of ice in the boat
launch area but the rest of the lake was ice free.

The fishing was good. I landed three rainbows 13",11" and 8". Had two
others on my line but lost them and had a number of strikes. All were good
fighters. Trolling a #8 black wooly bugger with some flash was the ticket.
If the weather and my schedule cooperate I'll go back next weekend.
