A business acquaintance who has a boat was out on the saltwater with his two teenage sons on Monday, and up at the "Bubble" said the humpies were up on the surface, and for two hours they had non-stop catching (as opposed to "fishing").

The acquaintance and I went out yesterday morning for a sequel to Monday.  This time we stayed out near Humpy Hollow and over to Possession.  Though the fish finder marked fish all over the place, the fish had lockjaw, and we (actually, he, the acquaintance) managed just one fish, a feisty coho of about 4 pounds.  We started fishing about 6:30 am, stopped at 9:30 am.  Hate to admit a skunk, but I had a stinky one yesterday, nary a bite.

I talked to a fellow who guides out on the Sound, and he said that yesterday he had very tough (fly) fishing, too.
