Nah, they still are spendy....that Cabelas panel is a cheap, chinese made
panel.  I believe it is five watts.  It will keep a battery charged, but
does not have sufficient power to recharge a battery.

You need at least a 30 watt panel to recharge a battery.  And even at that
it takes most of the day to do it.  However, by using the panel on your ice
chest or with another battery at camp you can get a full recharge on a sunny
day.  I use a 30 watt panel to recharge my tent trailer battery.  In late
October, on most sunny days the battery will just recharge.

Here is a reputable company with solar panels under 40 watts....you might
want to note the size of the panel.  Also if you leave the battery
unattended, you should get a charge controller.
