A 14 on the McKenzie...tied pretty buggy. Good sized mouthful. I also sometimes use a 14 soft hackle with a flymph.

I fish a flymph well into the hatch...sometimes all the way through it. Unless the hatch gets so big that the truly large trout lose their inhibitions and start taking adults off the surface, I think I catch more and larger fish just under the surface.
