The Cimmaron may get discontinued but Ross will always service the reel. I've got an old Gunnison. Pre 90's and can still order spools for it. The reel is flawless. To get into the budget market, Ross started a new division call Ross Worldwide. They are have a duplicate of the Cimmaron, called the Fly Water made overseas at pretty reasonable prices. Check it out. It's fit your budget.
