Fished the Yakima last Sunday. I was fishing a golden stone nymph under an indicator and hooked up. Strong fish, took several long runs, and swirled at the surface without really getting acrobatic. When I saw the yellowish-green flash, I knew I had a pikeminnow.

The thing was HUGE. At least 18" and probably about 5 pounds, with a gaping mouth that would make a bass proud. My hand wouldn't fit all the way around it.

And dangling from its rectum: mouse feet.

No, I am not making this up.

I may need to skate some mice near a certain rip-rap bank some evening!
