I'd be interested to hear what the WAMUGers think! (Dreaming of 2 x 17-19" screens on a dual switch box for my machines)
As older machines don't have the DVI out required to drive Apple's flat panels, many DTP places won't have upgraded. And the colour resolution probably isn't as good as a good CRT.
Usually you'll find that flat panels (or at least Apple's models) have much better contrast than CRT's. Combine that with occupying less desk space, being cheaper on the airconditioning and power consumption, and not sending electrons speeding at your face all day, I know which one I'd choose!
Of course, they're initially more expensive (if you don't take into account the other factors). Hopefully that'll be changing soon.
