Why indeed? Even the banks (those most-conservative of institutions)
have managed to have online access to systems with security levels
that they're comfortable with by using Internet standards and without
resorting to certificates. You'd think with a profit of $2bn
announced today that Telstra could manage something similar.
I'm not a Telstra customer any more, and have had access to online
billing information from my provider for a while now.
