Shay Thanks for the info. Ti, yes good point. I Have deleted the files you suggested and restarted to no avail. The old password is still there, even though after I rebooted and before I started File Sharing I set up a new password in Mac OS Setup Assistant, g. Mac OSSA had a blank area for new password, but when closed and opened again, the old one re-appears. Also Network Browser freezes on both systems independent of each other, without File Sharing being on.
Is there another way to reset the password, or should I try (a) a clean install, or (b) custom install of File Sharing? Cheers for now Jon ---------- From: Shay Telfer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Fri, 21 Jun 2002 10:13:43 +0800 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: File Sharing problems >So how do I change the Users & Groups/File Sharing password? >I have set all the privileges correctly on all HD's. You may need to turn filesharing off, delete these and reboot. >Also cannot open Network Browser on either my G4 Desktop, or >Tiebook, should I be able to? Yes, the network browser is independent of the file sharing. This might indicate that something else is amiss. BTW, it's TiBook, Ti being the chemical symbol for Titanium.
