Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to test/measure the ftp upload speed & strength
from my computer (through a router) to a webcentral hosted website. I'm
having connection timeouts and drop offs with downloading, and in particular
uploading files to the site.
The traditional solution to this is
* Upload a file to the site (or download one from the site)
* Time how long it takes.
Do it a couple of times to get an average. The advantage of this is
it lets you check the performance of various FTP/HTTP programs, and
reflects the performance you'll actually get, rather than what the
performance measuring program suggests.
There are other web based utilities for measuring a site's
performance, but they don't usually take the same path to the site so
they don't represent the performance you'll get from where you are.
You could also try IPNetTunerX

Have fun,
