Sorry all forgot to mention that you connect the 'console' of the DLS-504 by a com port on a PC or I suppose by a serial port - usb adapter on a Mac. which leads me to my next question: can I use the Terminal app in OS X?
Also here is a bit of the manual where it explains the connecting up. ------- If you choose to change the IP address of the Router you will need to access the device directly via the RS-232 connection using a terminal emulation interface (such as Microsoft HyperTerminal used in the sample screen captures). Your terminal parameters will need to be set to: VT-100/ANSI compatible Terminal keys enabled 9,600 baud 8 data bits No parity One stop bit -------- Cheers James >Hi all, >the IP address was accidently changed on my D-Link DSL-504 ADSL >Router, I can't change it back via the web based management module. > >I have to alter it by using the console. > >the Manual is aimed at Windows users - and suggests I use a terminal >emulation interface such as Microsoft HyperTerminal. > >However obviously I can't use that - so does anyone else know of a >terminal emulation interface for Mac Os X.1.5 or OS 9 (if I have to.) > >Cheers >James > >[Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > >-- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- >Archives - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.html> >Guidelines - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.html> >Unsubscribe - <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >Your use of Yahoo!
