Hello all,
Can anyone please advise on the following. What is the 'best' way to
network a Mac into a network of PCs (x3) via a hub, with an ADSL
ethernet modem running off one of the PCs? I shall get more info
tomorrow re the problems my colleagues are having. I'm checking out
archives etc.

Just plug the Mac into the hub and either
* Set the Mac to get its IP address by DHCP (if the PC is set to be a DHCP server) * Alternatively, manually assign an IP address (on the same subnet as the other machines) to the Mac. Usually this involves looking at the IP addresses of the other PC's and making sure that the Mac's number is one greater than all the others (and isn't the same as any of them!)

If you're running Mac OS X 10.2 you can just connect to the Windows machines and vice versa (once you've turned Windows File Sharing on in the Sharing control panel)

Have fun,
Shay
