Shay, Thanks for the reference to HPIJS for Mac OS X. Unfortunately the curse attached to Office Jet G85 ownership prevails. The G85 is one of the HP USB devices that does not print successfully over what Linux Printing Org describes as the "standard MAC OS X USB backbend."
Unless I want to buy and connect a USB to parallel port converter, it's back to the drawing board and the dreadfully slow HP driver and sluggish, sloth-like PowerBook. Zapping the PRAM didn't help. Much more of this and I'll shoot the baby. Michael.
