Classic, on the other hand, can use fonts only if they exist in the *:System Folder:Fonts folder. The only way to get access to all your other fonts is with a font management utility such Suitcase, ATM Deluxe, Font Juggler, etc. Font management utilities in MacOS X are not as necessary, although they can be handy if you want to keep your base set of fonts small. MacOS X has it's own built-in font handling facilities as well. For more info on how MacOS X handles fonts, check out article #106417 in the Apple Knowledge Base.
