CD labelling

When I burn a CD I wish to write on it, the label side of course, the 
content, date, etc. I think I read somewhere that you must be very 
careful which felt-tip type pen to use. I don't want to run the risk of 
the pen ink reacting with anything inside the computer or the ink 
rubbing off on something. Anyone got any ideas which pens are OK - the 
permanent ink, whiteboard markers, water soluble ink ones, etc?
