Hi...
Was the computer plugged into the phone line during any recent
thunderstorms? That could well explain it.
Other than that unplug any external USB devices other than mouse and
keyboard and reboot.
Have fun,
Shay

Hello
Just wondering if you can help with the following. Correspondent has been
using 10.2.6 for a short while with no problems and then the modem ceased
working.
Thanks
Adam
I have a problem with the the modem in my iMac (DV SE 400). When I
attempt to
use Internet Connect (on 10.2.6), I get an error message stating that the
"device does not exist". I have checked the System Overview and,
sure enough,
no modem appears under the network overview.
This is the second time that this has happened. The last time was
about a year
ago while I was still under warranty. The solution then was the installation
of a new modem (the current modem). I was hoping that it would not have to
come to that this time as I find it hard to believe that I have
been dealt two
consecutive dud modems.
