It is not one email that has a problem over 56k, its when you are subscribed to multiple lists etc. It also wastes peoples download limits, and bandwidth. It also means that unless you are a top poster people need to scroll through pages of stuff they have already read in order to read your response. It comes down to "responsible internetting" and netiquette.
