Dear WAMUGers,

I am having a small problem when using a Belkin USB 2.0 hub in that when the
computer is turned on, any device (currently a ZIP 100) connected to the hub
does not seem to be recognised. It even looks like the hub itself is not
recognised as System Profiler does not show the hub unless I unplug and plug
the hub back.

I can work around this by unplugging and plugging the USB cable connecting
the computer to the hub. After this action the green LED lights up and the
ZIP is recognised. This is not a preferred solution though.

I have tried starting the computer with the hub powered or not powered with
the same negative result. Also tried with a printer/scanner Epson Stylus
CX5300 connected to the hub, again with the same result.

Note that both the Zip and Epson are immediately recognised when plugged
directly into the G5.

Any idea please?

Set up is:

G5 1.8 running OS 10.3.2

Hub is a Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub model F5U234au. The hub is
powered.

 Many thanks,

Philippe C
