I'm looking for URLs to sites that allow me to evaluate, preferably
side-by-side some of the licensing options open to me.
Creative Commons is my favourite at the moment. There is a CC-GNU-GPL
and a CC-GNU-LGPL
<http://creativecommons.org/license/>
Fortunately it includes english, legal and machine-readable
translations of the license. You could also use other versions of the
CC licenses which allow you to choose what you want the license to
do, although they're mainly for content, not software.
(The BBC has just adopted CC licensing for their Content archives
<http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2004/05_may/26/creative_archive.shtml>)
A Google for License Comparison provides many links such as:

<http://zooko.com/license_quick_ref.html>

Have fun,
Shay
