Hello All -- -- Yes, I do this with Pagemaker 6.0 and OS 9.1, so it should be possible for Brad to do it with his setup. You do need the driver for a postscript printer (eg a Laserwriter) but you don't need the printer itself (I think).
-- You need to make the PDF in 2 stages. If your Pagemaker file is a longer publication and you want to PDF just part of it, set up the part you want to PDF as a number of separate pages, so that if printed normally, the pages you printed would include just the bit you want to PDF. -- Then open a print command to print the part (or all), but under 'Print Options' select 'Write Postscript to file' and insert a name for your file. This will generate a postscript file, with the default extension .ps. -- Then open Acrobat Distiller, which comes as part of the Pagemaker package, type in the name of your postscript file, and it will convert it to a PDF file. -- There also should be a 'Create Adobe PDF' command under the Pagemaker File menu, which may do the whole thing directly for you. However, I have found that this will sometimes give you an incorrect page output format, eg portrait instead of landscape. -- I should acknowledge the advice of Tom Vanderveldt in getting this working.
