This is sort of relevant but what does Indexing do to the hardrive? Would anyone gain anything from it?
Anyone wanting to search the contents of every document in an indexed folder reasonably quickly would. As to when someone would want to do that? Not sure. Depends on how good/bad your filing/naming system is I guess :)
