OK ! We have Firewire 400 & 800 and USB ports.
Does anybody know about Miniature Firewire ports.
Physically it is about half the size of a normal firewire port.
Where and what are they used for please ?
4 pin FireWire ports are used on DV cameras and some laptops. They're
basically FireWire 800 ports without the two pins used to provide
power. Usually this is either because a) it would be silly for your
battery powered camera to provide power, or b) the port is physically
smaller so can be fit onto smaller devices.
You can plug 4 pin devices into 6 pin ports using an appropriate
cable (usually supplied with your DV camera or whatever).
