I would say that these terms only apply to "I've changed my mind" type
returns, rather than the defective goods kind where you're protected by law
and covered by the statutory warranty, regardless of the terms and
conditions.

Subject: Warning: Apple Store - Terms & Conditions

In section 13 'Your Right To Return The Products' of the Apple Store
Terms & Conditions, it gives a list of items that cannot be returned.
One of them is a personalised iPod.

Am I being cynical if I think that's why they're so keen to give away
free personalisations on iPods?

In another section detailing Dead On Arrival situations, it states that
Apple must be contacted within 10 days of the invoice date. When Apple
shipped my iPod, it took 8 days to arrive, What happens if you're away
for a couple of days. Isn't this a bit tight and unfair on WA?

Matt.
