Where can I purchase a cable to link the output from a mini-DVI to the
input of an S-video socket of a TV?
With the 12inch I have been supplied - 1) a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter 2)
a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter (neither of which I need in this situation).
The laptop box notes 'Mini-DVI to composite and S-video adapter sold
separately'. Bingo.
Must share my experiences from the travels of the afternoon!
First stop Harvey Norman computers. The assistant said it seemed a
shame to plug the high quality of a mini-DVI into an old S-Video socket
TV. I agreed, but didn't have a spare $8k for a plasma screen! He
suggested a specialist computer shop.
Abacus computers have never stocked such a connection, and suggested
Dick Smith, as they have more cables for sale.
Dick Smith assistants were incredibly excited. Your laptop must be
brand new to have one of those connections! (A 2-year old G4 12inch
is appoaching middle age in computer-years!). They don't stock
Mini-DVI connections yet. They asked if I had my laptop with me - so
they could see the socket in the flesh!
Perhaps I should have tried my authorised Apple reseller?
Have tried searching two websites tonight. Apple Store gave me
thousands of matches, and MacFixIt a zero for this topic.
Anyone know a local retailer?
Thank you all for your input.
