Uhm, before I did *anything* I'd backup your whole drive because I strongly suspect that the data that you think is there isn't really there, or is only partially there. I'm saying this because resizing a partition is almost the most destructive thing you can do to a drive, barring a low-level format.

It is possible though unlikely that your re-partitioning software was in the process of "moving files around", and in doing so didn't loose any data, but the chances of that happening are very low.
