You get given money to make phone calls?
Seriously though, your Internet phone call *is* costing money,
just that you're paying for it in another way.

Sigh, do I *really* need to join the dots here?
Nice touch! You are a charmer.
We have been connected to the internet for some 16+ years, the last 4
years via broadband. I heard about Skype about a year ago and
certainly didn't buy this gear to make phone calls.
Skype, computer to computer, is free. Admittedly I did purchase a
$12.00 headphone set from Tandy.
Most times the reception is far superior to regular phone calls.
Skype Out (computer to phone) is still cheap at around three cents a
minute to the US for example. Personally I find Skype Out has a
small delay, but that may be because of our Mac.
The rest of your explanation is for people who do in fact reside in
an empty room and use a phone card.
