Hi Malcolm,
Thanks for your reply.
The modem hasn't been shipped yet ... I'm still deciding whether to
go with the NetComm NB5Plus4W
which I know is a good reliable modem, or go with WestNet's new Modem??
I know a few people at WestNet (I've been supporting them since Chris
Thomas founded WestNet),
I'll get in contact with Chris and find out more on the
iConnectAccess Open Networks modems.
I thought someone on our list was using the iConnect with WestNet ADSL.
Thanks again.
Cheers,
Ronni

Hi Ronnie,
The 624w supports WPA and there shouldn't be any problems with
using the modem so long as it was shipped in the last week or so.
If its 2-3 weeks old there may be a known problem with the modem
and a particular firmware version. Westnet should be able to help
you with any problems as they support wireless on the 624w and macs
using OS X nowadays.
If you run into any problems please contact me directly and I'll
see what I can do to help.

Hi WAMUGers,
Shortly, I will be setting up a ADSL Wireless connection with
WestNet for a friend.
I notice WestNet have gone away from using NetComm Modems & now have
Open Networks - iConnectAccess Modems.
Is anyone using the iConnectAccess624w ADSL modem?
If so, any problems with setting up or usage?
From what I have been able to ascertain and I hope I'm wrong, that
it only has WEP Security not WPA?
Or am I better to use just a ADSL Modem with an Airport Express?
I have been using for years with absolutely no problems at all, a
D-Link DSL-504 ADSL Router with a Airport Extreme Base Station
Thanks for any help.
Cheers,
Ronni
